Perinatal Loss + Bereavement Photography

Inclusive & Supportive Stillbirth, Loss, Remembrance, and Miscarriage Photography for families in Metro Atlanta

Dancing Phoenix Photography provides photography free of charge to parents experiencing a stillbirth, late pregnancy loss, medical termination, neonatal death, or anticipating the loss of a baby.

If you are experiencing a pregnancy loss, received a difficult perinatal diagnosis, your infant will pass soon, or has recently passed I want to say that I am so sorry. As a professional photographer and fellow loss parent, I understand how devastating these experiences can be for a family.

Often, the last thing families think of is preserving these heartbreaking moments through photos or film. However, as painful as it may be, these moments with your baby are times to hold onto and preserve. As the years pass, our memories can get fuzzy around the edges, and bereavement photos can provide you with an opportunity to freeze time. An opportunity to transport you back to the moments you grasp onto with everything in you.
Bereavement photography is an important tool to preserve memories for parents experiencing perinatal loss.

In addition, we offer maternity sessions for families carrying a baby whose life is expected to be brief.

A Bereavement Photography session may include:
Capturing your labor and when you meet your baby
Time with siblings and other family members
Holding your baby
Dressing/bathing your baby
Prayer or baptism ceremonies
Family customs and traditions
Funeral/Memorial ceremonies

How does a Bereavement Photography Session work?
A photographer will come to the hospital, birth center, hospice, or your home to photograph your baby. Our photography style is considered documentary style, which does not include a lot of posed photos. We capture life as it unfolds. We will also capture the little details you don’t want to forget about your baby, such as hands, feet, hospital bracelets, etc. Because life unfolds in full color, we typically provide full-color photos to clients. These photos are delivered within a week of your session. However, you are free to look at them whenever you feel ready, whether that is the same day or 10 years later.

If you are interested in having your bereavement birth story documented and you are located in the Metro Atlanta area, please complete the form below and we will be in touch with you as soon as possible.
*If you want birth story coverage of a longer labor and delivery process, please send a message.
